Wendy Huerta-Martinez

Client Support Coordinator

Wendy is Duenna Wealth Associates’ newest member and hails from the beautiful state of San Luis Potosí in Mexico. She moved to Houston as a toddler and has lived in Texas’ Space City ever since. Her love for her home city is so great that she couldn’t bear to leave it when going to college and she chose to attend Houston’s own Rice University (Go Owls!) for her undergraduate degree. Wendy received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rice University’s School of Social Sciences in May of 2023 and became the first in her family to receive a degree in secondary education.

While completing her bachelor’s degree in economics, Wendy developed a deep interest in the areas of Health Economics and Education. In order to bring these two passions together and make good use of her economics degree, she has chosen to pursue a career in the field of financial advising. Wendy joined the Duenna Wealth Associates team in 2023 as a summer intern. She currently serves as an intern for the company. Her current role is assistant to our President, Mariana I. Ruiz-Posada, and her Ann Dashkevich. As an assistant, she will be developing the necessary background skills required to be an efficient and well-prepared financial advisor. She is currently licensed to work with Life and Health products in the state of Texas and is working toward completing her Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Wendy believes that one of the most important factors in accomplishing one’s goals, whether academic, personal, or business related, is one’s financial preparedness. Her purpose as a financial professional in training is to develop the necessary skills required to help her clients set up individualized financial wellness plans that will assist them in reaching their goals. As a first-generation Latina graduate herself, one of the communities she wants to learn how to advise first are first generation professionals learning to pave their way after graduation.
